March 31 the owners of the world's oldest sex shop in Copenhagen close shop. Not because of the impact of the internet as you might think but partly because of bike lanes.
Blue Movie once had the world’s largest collection of adult material and, since its opening in 1964 four years before Denmark legalized pornography, has been the world’s oldest existing pornography shop.
According to the shop owner, it’s the effect of the recession, increasing shop rents and bicycle lanes that have influenced the company’s financial downturn the most.
