‘Where The Bears Are 2′ Photo Shoot Interviews

Adult Store Purchases Lead To SC Senator’s Resignation

S.C.—There’s nothing wrong with purchasing gag gifts from an adult store.

Nothing, that is, unless you are a South Carolina state senator allegedly using campaign funds to buy them for staff members.

State Sen. Robert Ford resigned last week amid an ethics probe that found evidence he has violated state ethics laws by depositing campaigns checks into his personal account. Ford is believed to have used the money to pay for personal expenses, including a doctor’s visit, a car loan and items from adult stores.

The 20-year senator maintained the adult store purchases were gag gifts (thats what everybodys says) for the people who worked on his campaign and were not illegal.

Still, after the ethics probe and the announcement that he could in fact be facing criminal charges, he resigned, effective May 31.

“If I was 10 years younger, I would stay and fight,” he said in his announcement. “But at this point in my life, I feel this is the best decision for everyone concerned."

New Facebook game Features Priest Killing Gays With Stools In Georgia

The game, called "Call of Taburetka," essentially allows players to recreate the violence that broke out May 17 during a rally to mark International Day Against Homophobia in Tbilisi, Georgia.

At least 17 people were injured when a mob of thousands of anti-gay Georgians -- led in part by robed Georgian Orthodox priests -- chased down lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activists using stones, sticks and in at least one case, a stool.

"Give me a break," writes Sal Mattos, a writer for Gay Gamer. "While there is clearly a bit of a language barrier happening here it can’t be denied that the game is blatantly homophobic... This isn’t a case of casual homophobia the likes of which we’ve seen plenty of the last few weeks. And even through the language barrier there is a sense of “Why don’t you get the joke?” that is insulting regardless of spoken tongue. Maybe I’m missing something but I’ve never found anything ‘funny’ about priests beating gay people with chairs."

A Facebook representative, says the game is in the process of being taken down.
