Tampa Jurors Watch Over 8hrs of Porn & Convict "Max Hardcore"

A Tampa federal jury that watched more than eight hours of graphic and violent pornography in court decided that the movies violated community standards for decency.

Jurors on Thursday convicted the producer, Paul Little, of 10 counts of selling obscene material on the Internet and 10 counts of shipping it to Tampa in the mail.

The 51-year-old Little _ who calls himself Max Hardcore _ produced and starred in the films. They included scenes of urinating, vomiting and violently dominating women.
Little's attorneys argued that the films were covered by the First Amendment. They vowed to appeal.

Critics of obscenity cases question the federal government's decision to file these charges, especially considering the defining case law is 35 years old and was on shaky legal ground to begin with.

Federal obscenity law requires jurors to determine whether the material is patently offensive to the average person based on community standards. In the age of the Internet, however, a community's standards have become more difficult, if not impossible, to define.

Gay activists to protest Orlando "Ex Gays" Conference

If being gay was a flu, who would want to be cured? I mean, think no more sense of style, bad hair cuts, no more fabulous parties, and NO Cocks OMG!

The conference, called "Love Won Out" and sponsored by the conservative Colorado-based Christian organization Focus on the Family, has sparked controversy and outrage with several billboards in Orlando and other cities that host the traveling event. The billboards declare: "I Questioned Homosexuality and discovered love won out." The group's message is that change is possible.

"For gays, this is the same as saying you don't have to be black, you don't have to be Jewish," said Wayne Besen, executive director of TruthWinsOut.org, a Brooklyn-based gay advocacy group. "They represent us as broken and incomplete people."

Protesters, organized by Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays, will meet outside First Presbyterian Church in Orlando, where organizers say the conference is expected to draw about 500 participants. The conference coincides with Gay Days, which annually attracts thousands of gays to Orlando and Disney World.

Raging Stallion Sues Drake’s After Midnight

Drake’s, which caters primarily to gay clientele, is one of the oldest adult retailers in the Los Angeles area, with a location in West Hollywood.

This morning, gay production company Raging Stallion Studios filed suit against Drake's for nonpayment of bills some more than a year old.

“This is becoming a more and more common problem as economic times worsen. We at Raging Stallion, however, will not be left holding the bag,” Chris Ward Owner of Raging Stallion continued. “We intend to collect each and every dollar owed to us and stores will quickly learn that by refusing to pay they will incur significant legal debt and still have to pay us in the end anyway. The choice is theirs. As for Drakes, we will aggressively pursue them until our debt is satisfied, even if it means seizing assets."

Annual Unofficial Gay Days Kicks off in Orlando

Although it may have once been treated like Orlando’s dirty little secret, it is now a big, flamboyant moneymaker expected to bring in $100 million to Economy. Gay and Lesbians mostly wear red shirts to show their pride and numbers and are seen holding hands in the different amusement parks with very little looks from “homo-challenged” guest.

Patty Sheehan, an Orlando city commissioner, is also a member of the gay community. She said what started in 1991 as a one-day event at Walt Disney World has come a long way.

"I do here proclaim the week of June 2, 2008, as Gay Days in the city of Orlando,” said Sheehan. "I can remember as a young person looking out on the crowd of red shirts, like the one I'm wearing now, and feeling so incredibly empowered, so I think that's really what the message is about."

Although there are fewer protests than in the past, this year's event will not go unopposed. The Evangelical group called Love Won Out plans to preach the anti-gay message at a conference in Orlando on Saturday.

"We want them to know there's hope. Change is possible. You're not born gay," said a member of the evangelical group.

More than 50 events are planned throughout the week. This includes a film festival and free HIV testing. Saturday is the official Gay Day at Disney's Magic Kingdom.

California Gay Ban Qualifies for Ballot and Supreme Court Rejects Bid to Stay Gay Marriage Ruling

"California Secretary of State Debra Bowen says a random check of signatures submitted by the measure's sponsors showed that they had gathered enough for it to be put to voters. The measure would amend the state constitution to define marriage as a union 'between a man and a woman.' If it is approved by a majority of voters on Nov. 4, it would overturn the recent California Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage in the state."

California will begin issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples on June 17th so even if the ban goes in effect their could be thousands of married couples that will be legally married and in legal limbo. It is unclear whether they would be nullified if or as some legal scholars have said the Supreme Court might get called on again to settle that question. So it looks like the fight has just begun.

Idaho Western Days Parade Makes Gay Float Anonymous

Twin Falls, Idaho annual Western Day Parade has banned local gay and lesbians from having their own float in years past but this year will allows gay float if was COMPLETELY Anonymous. No Rainbows, no colors, no leather men or Dykes with their boobies out. What kind of gay float could you have?

Enzyte Distributor Under Fire for Fraud

We all know the ad with the goofy “Smiling Bob” selling the male enhancement product Enzyte. He may not be smiling so much these days. Berkeley Premium Natraceuticals, the company that distributes the product, is considering massive changes in the wake of its founder's conviction on charges the company bilked consumers out of $100 million by employing misleading ads, manipulating credit card transactions and refusing to cancel orders or accept returns.

The six-week trial - which saw founder and president Steve Warshak and several other BPN executives, including Warshak's mother, fall on charges that included conspiracy, bank fraud and money laundering - ended in February. The guilty parties are scheduled to be sentenced in August.In the meantime, BPN says it's looking for a new image. Changes may include a new name for the company and new concepts for its pitches. "Smiling Bob" may have to go."With innovative marketing, customer loyalty and demand, and the continued commitment of its employees, vendors and retail partners, Berkeley will get back to the $200-million-per-year company it used to be," the company said in a statement released last week.

As for Warshak and the other defendants, they have forfeited more than $33 million in assets so far. In addition, Warshak faces as many as 20 years in prison.
