Francois Sagat to Appear at MJ's After Micky's Fire

As a result of the Micky's fire, Francois Sagat, who was set to appear in tonight's Cocktails With the Stars, will instead appear at the premiere of The Porno Palace at MJ's http://www.mjsbar.com/in Silver Lake. He will join Jayden Holloway, who was already scheduled to appear.
The Porno Palace, a new weekly event, kicks off at 10 p.m. and is hosted by Jason Sechrest. Tonight's festivities will include free porn giveaways, autographs, dirty dancing, and interviews with the stars. Sounds like a blast!

BREAKING NEWS: WEHO CLUB MICKY'S ON FIRE

A large fire broke out late Tuesday afternoon at West Hollywood landmark Micky's nightclub. The fire is still burning (as of 6pm PST) and at last count had drawn 7-9 fire trucks and several dozen fire fighters. One person was rescued from a second-floor office and treated for their injuries. Micky's has been the location for dozens of gay adult biz parties over the years.

Let's hope they find a new location for the popular weekly "Cocktails with the Stars" meet-and-greet. Ever since I heard the story about people taking shots out of Jeremy Hall's foreskin I've been collecting change for a Hollywood trip.

Okay, I've pre-hashed about both the week's videos before. Rush and Release is Matthew Rush's video directorial debut and Falcon has been touting it to beat the band. It's fairly run-of-the-mill for Falcon and for a directorial debut, I would give it high marks. It's not outstanding (three splats worth) but there are some really hot moments. The last scene with Eric Rhodes and Marc Williams is the best and they seem to have the most on-scene chemistry. I also liked Matthew Rush's commentary and the behind-the-scenes stuff. I know it sounds like I wasn't really wowed by it and I guess it was good but not great. I prefer to see more of Mr. Rush in front of the camera than behind it.


The second video, Carioca: Sarado, from AMG Brasil, I am a bit more excited about. Sure it got the same number of splats {***} as the other video, but you see that this is a series of solos. Long time listeners might know that I tend not to be a big fan of the solo JO videos, so three splats from me might be the same as a rave from someone else. I thought that the 1st, 4th and 6th scenes were the best, with Yago Mendoça (on the cover), Diego Marques and Kauã Campos, respectively. All of the scenes are sensual and the models do a great job of making the viewer into the voyeur that they need to be to enjoy the action. Having a hot body is one thing (and a very good thing!); knowing how to use it is quite another! Great video and I look forward to seeing all of these Brazilian guys in action (with other guys) soon!

Let’s talk about process. Think of it like a peek behind the curtain, here at GayPornTalk, or GPT, as we insiders call it. In terms of video reviews, leaving out toy reviews, we do about 100 video reviews a year. I say we, because Paulie is as much a part of the video review process as I am. I pick out the videos, write up the notes, but Paulie adds another dimension to the review process. (Faithful listeners will recognize this scenario: I start out a review, say that Paulie should remember the video, Paulie doesn’t and then half way through the review, he suddenly remembers the video!) The review process is not arduous, but it does take time.

Normally, I probably watch at least four times as many videos a year as I review on the podcast. (That’s about 400 videos, for the math challenged). I normally watch a video three times over the course of a review: once for general impression, generally with some fast forwarding; a second time with emphasis on scenes and things that I think should be noted in the review; and lastly, reviewing the scenes to find screen captures and annotate weird dialogue. I think that if I were writing the review online, I would probably watch them more, but I think that for oral reviews on the podcast, this is enough.

There are several studios that forward screeners to us and other studios that do not. Right now (hint, hint) sending in a screener is a great way of getting your video reviewed, because a majority of the ‘big’ studios don’t send us screeners. Other times, the sponsor, Gay Cheap Porn, will send we a video to review and other times I scour video stores to find videos to review. I also try to review videos from several studios and try to always get to the studio’s ‘big releases.’ In general, if I don’t like a video, I won’t review it on the podcast because there are so many other videos that I do like that I can feature.

That brings me to “Rocks and Hard Places” from Sarava Productions, directed by Kristen Bjorn. I found it a local video store, had been wanted to see and review it. I loved this movie, as it was cinematic, hot sex scenes, where there was real mystery about what roles the actors will play. (Unlike a lot of other videos, where we know who’s a top and never will bottom) The sex is fluid and the scenery adds to the passion evidenced in the scenes. I gave it 4 splats where the two disc set is worth every splat! After we did this review on the podcast, I got a call from the webmaster for Gay Cheap Porn that they couldn’t find the video from any distributor. They usually feature the videos we review prominently on their site and I hate to be the wooden shoe in the gears. I am glad to report that Sarava has officially released “Rocks and Hard Places” so that it is now featured at Gay Cheap Porn. Go get this truly exceptional video.

Summer of Sequels

JUST RELEASED! Trunks 4: White Heat. This is why I like porn so much more then mainstream movies. The sequels can actually be better then the originals, especially with Steven Scarborough behind the camera. Judging from the preview, this one one won't disappoint either. Do you remember on Sesame Street when they would sing that jingle: 'One of these things, is not like the other, one of these things doesn't belong'? (Excuse me in advance if your too old, too young, or too foreign for Sesame Street; just sit quietly and follow along) Sometimes, I like to review pairs of movies that have themes, like, European flicks, matching words in the titles, guys with huge dicks, etc. Other times, I will just pick them up at random. In this case, except for the fact that they're both gay porn (kind of a necessity, given the name of the porncast), they are as different, as different can be.

First movie is Stone Age, from Eon Films, which I think is Eddie Stone's directorial debut. He stars, directs, gets fucked, the whole ball of wax. I gave it three splats and I think it is a good first effort. Mr. Stone had some help with the directing from Rocky Brown, but we can already see some signature elements, that we would expect to see again. Does have a little tendency to 'mug' for the camera, but if your as attractive as Eddie Stone, that's not such a bad thing. In the first scene, Cole Ryan continues his his streak of getting me hard fast; your mileage may vary, but I look forward to all of his scenes. Eddie Stone is paired Trey Casteel in scene two and with 'the love of his life' (at least for this movie) Jesse Santana in the last scene. Great chemistry between the two. I also liked Tory Mason in scene three, but I think I liked him better in 'The Road To Redneck Hallow' and 'Big Boat' where he was a little more ripped, like a hot boy carved out of twink marble. What more can I say: Go get Stone!

Second movie, unrelated, was 'Striptease,' originally released by All Worlds in 1996. (My, how time flies!) There are a lot of actors/models/dudes in this one, where this is one of their few porn roles. Some did this and 'First Timers DC' so this may be you only opportunity. The plot, not that there's much, is that Doug Jeffries and Jay Anthony are in town (DC) to see the sights, see the AIDS Quilt on the Mall and have sex in their hotel room. Doug wants to go to Wet and Jay is more reticent. They wind up going separately and are promptly striped after they venture inside. (Was always happening to me, not!) Okay, TR has posted, so I can talk about him! During the interview Paulie and I had with TR, he surprised me by telling us that he wasn't really a fan of most foreign gay porn. Some time ago, the NBA was mostly Americans, and the thought of having a Croatian or Russian might be unthinkable! Today's NBA, being a preeminent basketball league in the world, has people of many nationalities. In gay porn today, people come from all over and I find its the differences that make things interesting. Its hard to keep the good men down (Especially when they're strong enough to break the cords that I tie them down with, but I digress).

Take the first movie this week: Rich Kid. The cover has Dean Monroe, and I know him from the work he has done for Falcon Studios. But, he's a Brit, and a very hot Brit at that. Given his work for Falcon, I have, in my own mind, claimed him for USA, that's not the case. He is well displayed in two scenes, scene three and the extra scene. Are there a lot of non-English speakers in this flick? You betcha, although most of the dialog is in English. Is it really hot, with or without any subtitles. You betcha! I gotta say that my favorite scene is scene three, with Marco Sanchez and Manuel Martinez by the pool. Hot, hot flip-flop scene that leaves no ass unturned! Sure, there is some plot about being rich and the rich kid having a birthday, but don't watch this for the dialog or plot. (If I want either, with a good dose of great sex, I'll pick up one of Jett Blakk's movies). I gave Rich Kid three and a half splats. If this was "Mad Money" and I was Jim Cramer, I would rate this one a 'must buy.' (Please talk to your financial advisor before making any investment decisions)

Onto the second movie, which is "European Holiday, Part 1." from Falcon International. This is the second in the "relaunch," although they (Falcon) aren't calling it that. The first, 'Knock-Out,' was good, but I think this one is better. Tim Hamilton directs and I believe that this is his directorial debut. (Maybe not, 'cause you'd think that Falcon would say something about it, considering they're going apeshit over Matthew Rush's directorial debut!) The cover is David Watts who has a most perfect body, IMHO; not too big, not too thin, cute face and rockin', cut body. If you watched Rich Kid (I hear somebody rated it as a 'must buy') then you might have seen David Watts, but he was called 'Derek Lyon.' (For those of you keeping score at home, he's also gone by: Casper Wats, Casper Watts & Johan Schwartz; If you read about Johan Lytts, that's probably him!) Anyway, if you like David Watts, this is the movie for you since he is in three of the four scenes. My favorite scene is him with Bel Ami staple Danny Saradon in the last scene. There seems to be a lot of connections between the guys, which comes through in the sex, which adds to the hotness and believability of the scenes. A great directorial debut for Tim Hamilton, at least according to me. I gave it three and a half splats. Go have yourself a holiday!

BIG DICK CLUB 2
"There's a monster in my pants, and it does a nasty dance." With apologies to Fred Schneider, that's what I think of with respect to "Big Dick Club 2," which I gave 31/2 splats. When I watched this video originally, I gave it a lower rating because director Chad Donovan always seems to do movies with some plot. Take "Bar Trade" (Studio 2000) or "Basic Plumbing 3" (Falcon), also directed by Chad Donovan, where plot is used to enhance the sexual situations. (Okay, Jerry Douglas he's not, but plot is used!) Going back and looking at BDC2 as a "pure" sex video, I think it does a better job. Cort Donovan is a stand out and seems to shine more than in other videos. Jonathon Lowe, on the cover, seems like a really good pairing with Jeremy Hall, where he reflects the sexual passion back to Jeremy and lets him do what he does best: fucking the hell out of him! Its nice to see Hans Ebson again, but I'm not he heats up the screen any more than he used to. Everyone else does a respectable job, but they seem like a peanut gallery of big dicks. (Okay, that last sentence was an oxymoron) I'll finish off with our tag line: “What is the attraction of the big dick club, other than the big dicks? That’s enough!”

"I can see Paraiso by the dashboard light." Can a movie and a movie company creep up on you? Like you're watching it, and suddenly , instead of being scared, you're turned on? The first few videos from AMG Brasil were good, but they seemed a little "standard." Standard does have to be a bad thing, if it's, say, Bel Ami or Sarava standard. They were good, but is this AMG? Watching Paraiso initially I was expecting standard, but got a lot more! I wound up giving it 3 splats, which I think is very good. Nick Vallini is more than hot is really great paired with Roger Carneiro in the first scene. Another outstanding coupling occurs in scene three, with Will Castelo, who I'd seen before, with Falsto Chaves, who I hadn't. Outdoor sex, hot young guys, who seem to really be into each other. Last scene, with Ricardo Onça and Alex Tentor also delivers. So before, I might have been: "Cool, another AMG Brasil video," now I'm: "Hot, another AMG Brasil video!" Especially when the new movie is "Carioca: Sarado," which I'll review on the porncast in a few weeks, that puts the "M for muscle" back in AMG.
