Two Wounded at Vigil for SF Pride Shooting
More hateful violence hits the San Francisco area last night, this time at a Vigil for Pride Shooting. A 21-year-old man was shot through the cheek and a 20-year-old man shot in the leg by an unknown assailant during a Monday evening vigil for Stephen Powell, who was shot and killed at San Francisco's "Pink Saturday" festival on Saturday.
A suspect or suspects have yet to be identified, according to San Francisco Police Department spokesman Samson Chan.
Powell was one of three people shot during the annual pre-Pride celebration. The other two victims, a 19-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, are expected to fully recover.
Ed Perkins, 20, of San Francisco was arrested Saturday night near the scene of the crime in the Castro. Police are not releasing a motive but have said they don't believe the incident was a hate crime.
