Chicago-Area Bears Plan Benefit Dance

Bear Party Productions will host an evening of furry frolic April 11 at Jackhammer in Chicago.

"Chicago has always been a home away from home for the Bear Party folks," a Bear Party spokesman said. "Whether we're out there for Bear Pride or just enjoying the city, there's always something happening in Chicago. So we wanted to throw a party for all the local bears and their friends."

The party, which starts at 8 p.m., will feature dance tunes by local DJs, go-go bears, food and "surprises," according to the Bear Party spokesman. Admission is $10 at the door, and proceeds will benefit activities hosted or sponsored by the not-for-profit social organization Great Lakes Bears. CyberBears, Titan Media, COLT Studio and Pantheon Productions are sponsors of the event.

The Chicagoland party is one of a number of Bear Party Productions nationwide every year. The company focuses on promoting bear-friendly activities and events while supporting nonprofit organizations like Magnet San Francisco and the Stop AIDS Project.
