It’s not that much of a surprise, but it is certainly brave of the adorable 21 yo star. Ruggiero has decided to go public with being gay, and will be posing for the cover of "fab Magazine," Canada's leading guide to gay culture. Ruggiero who played a gay student on the hit teen drama Degrassi: The next Generation, has been a role model gay kids everywhere.
He says "I didn't plan it that way. Maybe it's life imitating art. "Degrassi let me do something real and I kind of feel like I'm living proof of what the show was working to accomplish."
"Degrassi: The Next Generation" is currently in its seventh season on CTV, and airs Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. ET.
