Troye Sivan breaks his silence on whether the “popper’s party” is over after FDA crackdown

The gay pop star recently revealed his crestfallen feelings about the inhalant becoming subject to greater scrutiny. A couple of weeks ago, a popular poppers manufacturer, Double Scorpio, announced on its website it was ceasing all production after the FDA had raided its offices in Austin, Texas. “We don’t have a lot of information to share but we believe that the FDA has performed similar actions towards other companies recently,” the brand said. While no other poppers produced have verified those claims, there are ominous signs. Pac-West Distributing (PWD), one of the producers of Rush, the most iconic brand and inspiration behind Sivan’s salacious single, has shut down its phone number, reports Fast Company. The brand has also replaced its website with a single graphic Matching that cryptic energy, the “Bloom” singer shared a melancholy Instagram story Sunday about Double Scorpio’s shuttering. “mfw the poppers party is over,” he wrote over a wistful-looking selfie.
